Beware of False Gospels

!!! Talk about a warning !!!
!! Beware of false Gospels !!

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast down to hell and delivered into chains of darkness to be reserved unto judgment;
And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned with an overthrow, making an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed righteous soul from day to day with unlawful deeds;
The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished: But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord.
But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption;
And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
For when they speak great swelling of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”
2 Peter 2 King (KJV)

Warning! Misrepresented!

“But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed…These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness.”
~2 Corinthians 11:3-4; 13-15a

Much of modern western Christianity is increasingly becoming the sort of people the apostle Paul strongly warned against in Ephesians 4:14. Those who are “…tossed back and forth by the waves and blown here and there by every wind of teaching.”

Welcome to modern-day church! Self-help, positive-thinking, spirituality cloaked- prooftexted Bible passages have replaced a Biblical worldview. Outright spiritual lies about Jesus is presented as truth in nonfictional and fictional books, movies, and sermons. These outright lies are sought out and enjoyed by most Christians today; drawn in by repetitive emotional appeals, loving sounds and pleasantries. Despite this fact, they continue to teach a “Jesus” who did not die as the atoning sacrifice for our sins. They preach a “God” who, in the end does not care what a person does or how a person believes. They fail to show biblical evidence of eternal consequences for sin.

Who will listen to their warnings?

The Letter of Jude

I love “The Letter of Jude.” Verse 4 brings us this strong warning ~

Believers have been mislead to interpret Jesus Christ’s Gift of Grace as license to live in their sin. They mistakenly believe all their sins will be “forgiven by His Grace” no matter what happens, because God knows they are not capable of being “sin free” – no one was sin free except Jesus – and so they think because God understands they are not capable of being completely sin free, He in turn will forgive them no matter what, because they try… and He knows their heart.

Friends THIS is the false teaching that Jude warns us about. The perversion of His Grace!

Believing is NOT enough! In order to accept His Free Gift of Grace and continue in our salvation IN HIM we are called to ACTION.

Jesus says we are to STAY IN His Mercy and Grace, by KEEPING ourselves FILLED WITH the Holy Spirit & PRAYING IN The Holy Ghost! We are TO KEEP the New Covenant; we do this simply by BEING IN the Word, fully ARMOURED WITH the FILLING OF The Spirit of God IN us, who overcomes the lust of our flesh (the old man made new) TO LIVE upright IN His Righteousness, LOVING God whole heartedly and to ALSO LOVE our neighbour as ourselves.
We are called TO SHARE the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. We must RECOGNIZE there are some among us who are “not saved” and whom will burn in the eternal hell of fire, if they do not accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. We must share The Word – The Full Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord – with the unsaved in the correct manner as we are lead by The Holy Spirit.

This letter is very relevant to us right here and right now.

I encourage you to read it today and be blessed!

The Apostle Paul – Growing in the Word

Ephesians 2:18-22

18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

The Devil’s Deceptions

The devil can quote scripture all day long, spinning you in circles; quoting a bit from here and a bit from there. He can quickly make a real strong case to back up a specific teaching. It happens so quickly that it catches you by surprise. It can be confusing and extremely overwhelming, especially if you are not familiar with God’s Word. A true student of the Bible must look at the full context of any given scripture and examine it fully in order to validate the truth.

We recently witnessed how easily this type of deception can creep in alongside true biblical teaching.

My wife and I signed up for a free two week Bible based seminar on end times prophecy. An annual event hosted by a local church. The written agenda to teach strictly from the Bible caught our attention. The first few nights they kept their promise and only quoted and taught from scripture. But, at the close of the third night they quickly slipped in a couple spiritual teachings and quotes from an unfamiliar author. We just so happened to recognize the authors written name as the creator and founder of their doctrine. Oh, it’s real innocent folks. They got us comfortable, gave us a few snacks and just slid it in. Right under our noses. At the end of the evening as we went to leave, they lovingly offered us a “free” book to ensure we were truly saved. They only asked that we read it before returning to the seminar the following week. And there it was! The doctrine of men. So, as we prepared to exit through the doorway, we politely said, “No, thank you!” and handed the “free” book back to the usher, and continued on our way. Needless to say, that was the end of the seminar for us. We abruptly left, shook the dust off our feet and agreed not to return.

Polluting God’s word is something we just cannot allow in our lives. It robs believers all over the world of a true relationship with Him. So, when we put on the full armour of God, stay in the Word and be continually filled with The Holy Spirit; just as Jesus calls us to, we can be rest assured that He will guide our steps and sound the alarms when smooth talking men try to insert and pervert our faith with their ungodly teachings.

The New Covenant of Christ

All of creation was completed in a period of 7 days. God purposed us for Himself on the 6th day. He established man in a such a way that he would long to have fellowship with Him. Made in His image and in His likeness and by His own hands, He formed man with His love out of the dust of the earth. He breathed the breath of life into his nostrils. He purposed them. The fullness of God is written on their hearts. He gave them every good gift.

As a resort of the serpents deceit, Adam and Eve chose to rebel and fell away from God. In their nakedness they hid themselves from God. Yet God called out to the man He created, longing for continued fellowship with them. In order for Adam and Eve to be right with God, He had to cover them with what I believe is the first animal sacrifice, the first spilling of blood. God fashioned the animal skins as a covering so they would not be ashamed in their nakedness. The plan of man’s salvation began with the fall.

Fast forward to the New Testament, and Jesus Christ comes as God in the Flesh, our Messiah. The Savior of this world. The promised King. The life of Jesus changed everything.

Many new to Flat Earther’s are led to open the Bible for the first time. For some, the revelation that scripture can be read and understood as literal truth is immediate. For other’s it may come over a period of time. However it happens, the unraveling of these global lies told by teachers, instructors, friends, relatives, pastors and neighbors begins to make sense; they are hiding God. The Flat Earth revelation brings new meaning to your life. This experience leads you right to the arms of a loving creator and you find yourself calling out to God in search of His Truth and His Salvation.

It is during this innocent quest to serve the Lord and learn His Truth, that the new believer inevitably stumbles upon a multitude of different interpretations of the word. We read in the new testament that Jesus abolished the Old Testament law. Let’s take a moment and examine the New Covenant our Messiah, Jesus Christ brought to us as part of His Salvation of Grace.

The fullness of God was shown to us by the fulfillment of the New Testament. Prophesied so many times in the Old Testament scripture. It was because of His love for us that God showed us His Grace when He offered His only Begotten Son, conceived by the Spirit God, born of the Virgin, the Son of God, the perfect blood offering, the final sacrificial Lamb, God in the Flesh, to bare every stripe of our sins, to be our Holy covering, who Himself would suffer in hell for 3 days before He could ascend and show himself to the multitude, who then would leave us the gift of Holy Ghost, the Spirit of God, to dwell within us, to keep us in His Righteousness while He goes to sit at the right hand of the Father God in Heaven, until that appointed day, when He will come again to gather His people unto Himself. It’s so beautiful how scripture backs up scripture, over and over again.

Jesus says in Matthew 5:18   18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

John 14: 16-21   16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Matthew 22: 37-40   37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Matthew 15: 19-20   19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man:

And here is where most people stop. But, if you keep reading your find more… And we see in the teachings of Paul, a much clearer representation of the New Covenant of Christ. For Paul shows us that when we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour, that we are in that moment, born again by one Spirit into one body and without the Holy Spirit dwelling in us, we do not belong to Christ, because our flesh cannot keep the law, for the law to us is a curse and by it, our sin deserves nothing but death. In Ephesians 1: 12-14, Paul shows us the Holy Spirit is the seal of salvation for all those who believe   12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, 14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

To accept Christ gift of Grace, we must also accept the gift of the Holy Spirit to dwell inside of us daily; to fight our battles; to keep us in the righteousness of God; who keeps us free from the penalty of death; who with the Spirit keeps us free from sin.

Therefore we are no longer condemned as to what day we regard as the Sabbath, for the Spirit of God, living in us, will seek out the appropriate day and time for us to honour and recognize as a day of rest. Romans 14: 5-13 Paul teaches us should One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

This so beautifully sums up the response that we all should have, one to another. Remember the Sabbath Day and Keep it Holy is just one area where we will be accountable to God. If we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and accept The Holy Spirit, who dwells in us as His Full Gift of Grace unto Salvation, then we have crusified the old man, the old sinful nature, and we will stand before God on judgement day, like a man and give an account of our walk with the Lord with no regrets, because it is not by our power, but by His power that we are truly saved. Amen.

Some Christians after finding salvation through Jesus Christ, come to believe they are saved by Grace and nothing more. Other believers think that although they are saved by the gift of the Cross, they must now keep the Torah; the law given to the Israelite’s in the first five books of the old testament scriptures.

An exhaustive but recommended read, which addresses the purpose for the Old Testament Covenants, titled “Moses makes seven trips up and down Mt. Sinai…” originally edited and posted by Kirk Carmichael, linked here is a great work addressing the fulfillment of the Torah law. Carmichael takes the reader through each trip Moses makes to Mt. Sinai and shows us the patience of God as He unfolds which portions of the marriage contract remains unfulfilled. In his many attempts to bring the Children of Israel into complete compliance with God, Moses continues to speak to God on their behalf and seeks his grace. God, in His Righteousness continues to expose their filthy garments and instructs them to become a clean and holy people; different from all others; to experience a complete change of heart, and live as a people in the fullness of God and inherit the promise land as the Bride. Through obedience, the Children of Israel eventually get to go into the promise land, however, it is not long before God tells the people, you may go and dwell there, but it is for a time, I will not dwell with you. The beauty of this story comes with the fulfillment of the promised Messiah in the New Testament, through His Grace we are given a New Covenant, through Jesus Christ; believing on Him and His sacrifice for our sins, we are grafted unto Him as His chosen people, and in acceptance of His Gift we are instantaneously offered the Holy Spirit of God to dwell in us, keeping us in His righteousness until Christ comes again on a cloud to redeem his Bride. Oh, it’s just so beautiful.
